Title: We Are the Sum

Meter: 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 10 10

Topics: Service, Kindness, Goals, Progressions

Text:

1.

Kind words bring no remorse

And good deeds no regret.

There is no better course

That anyone can set.

For each word is a choice

Each action is our own.

And how we raise our voice

Is up to us alone.

We are the sum of what we do and say

A total of our habits every day.

2.

Good seeds grow mighty trees

That bear the sweetest fruit.

The path of greatest ease

Is not the surest route.

For patience must prevail

When tending tender seeds.

That start out lean and frail

And full of constant needs.

We are the sum of what we do and say

A total of our habits every day.

3.

No mortal soul becomes

In the course of a day

The one who overcomes

All problems in the way.

But through our lives God can

Make mighty what is weak.

According to his plan

Of what to do and speak.

We are the sum of what we do and say

A total of our habits every day.
