Hymn Text: The Wise Men

Date: January 6th, 2017

Title: The Wise Men

Meter: 10 8 10 8 D

Topic: Sacrifice, Endurance, Devotion

Notes: I wrote this in honor of the traditional “Three King’s Day”, celebrated in many countries on January the 6th.

Text:

1.

Wise men of old sought the signs of the King
And left all their riches to find

His humble abode and so Him to bring

Their wealth of devotion combined.

Despite every hardship, they traveled far

No distance was too great to roam.

Lead by the light of the glimmering star,

They brought their great gifts to His home.

2.

Wise men today the seek signs of the King

And give all they can in pursuit.

They bring what He now has asked them to bring:

A faith that has grown and borne fruit.

Despite every hardship, the travel far.

No distance is too great to roam.

Lead by the light of the Spirit’s bright star,

They find Him, and follow Him home.
