Hymn Text: Many a Day

Date: January 22nd, 2017

Title: Many a Day

Meter: 8 8 8 8 D

Topic: optimism, service, humility, faith, trust

Many a dark and dreary day

Is lightened by looking around,

Finding another on the way

Who anxiously seeks to be found,

And leading him kindly to light,

By walking with him a while.

Although the day still isn’t bright

The both of you now share a smile.

Many a sick and sour mood

Is sweetened by seeking to serve.

Taking a humble attitude,

To fill the needs that you observe.

For Christ centered not on his needs

When walking with us here below.

Instead, he performed selfless deeds,

With all gifts that he could bestow.

Many a strange and sudden blow

Is dampened by finding a way

To use the searing pain to grow

And to bend like moldable clay.

In the hands of the one who will

Now shape you, and will never cease,

Until his mighty hands fulfill

By revealing their masterpiece.
