Hymn Text: Wanderers Below

Date: January 30th, 2017

Title: Wanderers Below

Meter: 8 7 8 7 D

Topic: heaven, mortality, progression

Our home is a heavenly place.

Although we wander below

This world is but a holding space

Where we for a while can grow.

Though some might forget where we seek

It’s no less the place we’re from.

And even in our moments bleak.

Our Father beckons us come.

We cannot see our home for now

But by faith we know it’s there.

And while this life’s long row we plough

We reach it through earnest prayer.

As strangers far from loving smiles

A reunion we now crave.

Though sep’rate through the hours and miles.

Our love’s bonds we can now save.

Each neighbor we see day to day

Is wandering just the same.

And struggling to find the way

That reveals from whence they came.

It should not be a lonely road

But one that is marked and shared,

With cheerful ones to share the load

Who have for their return prepared.
