Hymn Text: The Other Pioneers

Date: February 8th, 2017

Title: The Other Pioneers

Meter: 10 8 10 8 8 8

Topic: pioneers, endurance, faith

Text:

1.

A pioneer need not have crossed the plains

Or pushed a handcart up a hill.

And they need not have braved the snow and rains

For others can this role fulfill.

All those who build a bridge to span

To clear a path so others can.

2.

A pioneer must think on others’ good

To bless all those who come their way.

And to smooth the road as our Savior would

With each step their love to display

All those who build a bridge to span

To clear a path so others can.

3.

A pioneer must not faint by the way

But must press on toward the goal.

For then their hard-fought footprints will long stay

And God their spirits will console.

All those who build a bridge to span

To clear a path so others can.
