Hymn Text: Are We Not All Beggars?

Date: March 23rd, 2017

Title: Are We Not All Beggars?

Meter: 8 6 8 6 D

Topic: trust, dependence, reliance, faith, humility

1.

Do we not hold an open hand,

Hoping that God will fill?

And do we beg to understand

The workings of His will?

Then why should we judge others who

Are beggars, just as we?

Who rocky paths must stumble through

And dangers all must flee?

2.

Do we all not borrow each breath

From God who gracious lends?

Must we not pass the veil of death

When this mortal life ends?

Then why should we judge others who

Are beggars, just as we?

Who rocky paths must stumble through

And dangers all must flee?

3.

Do we not look to God for light

That only He can give?

Do we not draw His holy might

That we may thrive and live?

Then why should we judge others who

Are beggars, just as we?

Who rocky paths must stumble through

And dangers all must flee?
