Title: Our Spirit’s Tapestry
Meter: 8 6 8 6 D
Topic: perseverance, perspective
We weave our spirit’s tapestry
With threads of faith and love
Our Heavenly Father weaves with us
To weave below, above.
Sometimes he gives us darker thread
But we do not retreat.
And those some strands filled us with dread
We will need them to complete.
I need not worry that my view
Is limited and small.
I know these threads are but a few
And do not stand for all.
With hope I thread each passing day
That what I weave is right.
That I might weave the Master’s way
His pattern in my sight.
It is the work of many years,
Though every stitch seems small
While many strands are washed by tears
They still fit in it all.
When I at last step back and see
I’ll wonder at the feat.
It will be what it’s meant to be:
A tapestry complete.
