Hymn Text: No One Knows Tomorrow

Date: April 28th, 2017
Title: No One Knows Tomorrow
Meter: 6 6 6 6 D
Topic: time, probation, stewardship

No one knows tomorrow
But all can grasp today,
Either may bring sorrow
And both will fly away.

And neither will return
Nor give another chance,
Though there is much to learn
From a swift backward glance.

Many the future fear
Or dwell upon the past.
They hold the present dear,
Knowing it will not last.

You cannot change what’s passed,
For it is set in stone.
The present’s yours to cast
And yours to mold alone.

Someday God will reckon
What we did with this gift:
Did we the poor beckon
And seek them to lift?

Or did we stand idle
And let time slip away?
A horse with no bridle
That will wander and stay.
