Hymn Text: Our Every Sacrifice

Date: May 15th, 2017
Title: Our Every Sacrifice
Meter: 8 6 8 6 D
Topic: sacrifice, grace, reliance

Our every sacrifice has worth
Though bitter be the taste.
The very reason for our birth
Without would be a waste.

For every sacrifice refines
Like a pure and fervent fire,
Until the goldsmith’s face back shines
And we’ve met his desire.

Our every sacrifice has strength
Though it may bring us pain.
This life is but a little length
Our wounds will not remain.

There is no sorrow heav’n can’t heal
Nothing it can’t restore.
God’s power to reform is real
And lasts forevermore.

Our every sacrifice has weight
And it can crush or build.
The aid we claim is also great
When God’s arm is revealed.

Christ yokes Himself under our load
And lifts with all His might,
Then bears us off along life’s road,
He makes our burdens light.
