Hymn Text: Redemption’s Song

Date: June 18th, 2017
Title: Redemption’s Song
Meter: 8 6 8 6
Topic: introspection, judgment, improvement

If you were called this hour to die
Would you be ready now,
To stand before the judge on high,
To answer and to bow?

“There did you sing redemption’s song?
Were you then stripped of pride?
And did you wield faith’s power strong
To cause a change inside?”

“Are hands and heart both clean and pure?
Your countenance divine?
Do spotless garments then ensure,
That you are wholly mine?”

So can you hear God’s voice to say,
“Come ye blessed to me,
You’ve lived your life the righteous way,
You are who you should be.”
