Hymn Text: Our Faith Must Not Remain a Seed

Date: June 28th, 2017

Title: Our Faith Must Not Remain a Seed

Meter: 8 8 8 8 D

Topic: faith, growth

1.
Our faith must not remain a seed
It can take root, bloom, and flourish,
If we pluck up each thorn and weed
And commit the seed to nourish.

With patience looking to the fruit
As we hope to see it growing
With confidence in the deep root
In its power of bestowing.

2.
Our faith must not remain a sprout.
It can stretch with reaching fingers,
With leaves and fruit then springing out,
The shade and the scent long lingers.

With patience looking to the fruit
As we hope to see it growing
With confidence in the deep root
In its power of bestowing.

3.
Our faith must not remain alone
It can grow till it spreads abroad.
Seed after seed then be sown,
As you grow in faith in God.

With patience looking to the fruit
As we hope to see it growing
With confidence in the deep root
In its power of bestowing.
