Title: His Lambs
Meter: 8 6 8 6 D
How dear to the Good Shepherd are
His lambs, young and tender
They’re never from His presence far,
He is their defender.
His eye watches them in slumber,
His hands shelter from rain.
He speaks blessings without number,
He bears their mortal pain.
How swift the loving Shepherd runs,
When He hears their distress.
For He beholds these little ones,
Is eager them to bless.
His voice soothes them in their slumber,
His hands shelter from wind.
He speaks comforts without number,
For none of them have sinned.
How close He cradles those who fall
And brings them to His rest.
He takes away the fear of all,
In His bright pastures best.
His arms lift them from their slumber,
His hands shelter from storms,
He speaks wonders without number,
His smile will their hearts warm.
