Hymn Text: Choose Ye All This Day

Title: Choose Ye All This Day
Meter: Irregular
Scripture: Joshua 24:15

1.
We all stand between the two masters,
Each calling “Now come, follow me.
Receive the reward of my kingdom
And be what I want you to be.”

Our agency lets us determine,
Which master that we’d like to choose
Eternity stands in the balance
Our own souls to win or to lose.

Choose ye all this day whom ye will serve.
Do you stand by Father, or no?
Choose ye all this day whom ye will serve.
Have courage to let your faith show.

Choose ye all this day whom ye will serve.
Make your choice and never retreat.
Choose ye all this day whom ye will serve.
You’ll never be lost to defeat.

2.
How long do we stand with two masters?
The devil with all of his chains,
Or the Savior, who loves, redeems us.
And His Father who holds the reigns.

We stand near the beckoning shepherd
Who wishes to gather us home
We stand near the sly prince of darkness
Who leaves us, forsaken, alone.

3.
How long do we wait before choosing?
The sun sets on life’s little day.
If we wait, the chance we are losing,
The choice of the penitent way.

For soon comes the long night of darkness
Our choices are final that day
Much better to flock to the Lord’s side
And make that decision today.

Hymn Text: The Ten Commandents

Title: The Ten Commandments
Meter: 8 7 8 7 D
Scripture: Exodus 20:3–17

1.
There is no God beside our God
He rules in heaven alone
We must not take His name in vain
Nor should we swear by his throne.

We must not make an idol thing
For that mocks the one, true God
We must give reverence to His day
On His Sabbath, give him laud.

2.
We must our parents honor give
That long our days here may be.
All of our God’s commandments now
We must keep them cheerfully.

We must not seek another’s life
Nor let anger run us through
We must not seek another’s wife
Or her husband, but be true.

3.
We must not take what is not ours
But do work to earn our keep
We must not speak false, lying words
And sow the sins we will reap.

We must not covet anything
No matter what it may be.
For all of our God’s commandments
We must keep them faithfully.

Hymn Text: How Treasured Are All the Faithful Ones

Title: How Treasured Are All the Faithful Ones
Meter: 8 7 8 7 10 9 10 9
Scripture: Exodus 19:5–6

1.
How treasured are all the faithful ones
A treasure of infinite worth
How treasured are all these daughters, sons
Above every treasure on earth.

A holy nation, nation of priests
A peculiar treasure are they
They are champions of God’s covenant
Throughout all of the world today.

2.
How treasured are their sweet, tender youth
With the fires of faith in their eyes
Nobly bearing the standard of truth
Confounding the learned and wise.

A holy nation, nation of priests
A peculiar treasure are they
They are champions of God’s covenant
Throughout all of the world today.

3.
How treasured are their dear families
Who bring precious spirits to earth
Who nurture, raise them, help them to find
The path of the Son’s second birth.

A holy nation, nation of priests
A peculiar treasure are they
They are champions of God’s covenant
Throughout all of the world today.

4.
How treasured are those now stooped with age
Whose service has seen many days
Though in twilight, they fear not the grave
They soon on their Savior will gaze.

A holy nation, nation of priests
A peculiar treasure are they
They are champions of God’s covenant
Throughout all of the world today.

Hymn Text: Created in His Image

Title: Created in His Image
Meter: Irregular
Scripture: Genesis 1: 26-27

1.
When all things were created
And pronounced good on earth,
God once again descended
To give mankind its birth.

He placed man in the Garden
But not only alone,
He placed an help meet for him
The woman of his own.

Created in His image
To till, and tend and bless,
Quickened by the breath of life,
Their garden home to dress.

2.

Now every son brought to earth
Shares light from Adam’s face.
Every daughter who has birth
Shares in Eve’s gentle grace.
Destined with each other to
Extend God’s royal line.
They pass on to their children
A spark of the divine.

Created in His image
To till, and tend and bless,
Quickened by the breath of life,
Their earthly home to dress.

3.
Then we as brothers, sisters
Make these truths apparent
And honor these great gifts from
Our bright, holy parents.
So we who bear God’s image,
Must follow and be free.
That we may be the children
That we are meant to be.

Created in His image
To till, and tend and bless,
Quickened by the breath of life,
Our heav’nly home to dress.

Hymn Text: Cleaving to Each Other

Title: Cleaving to Each Other
Meter: 8 7 8 7
Scripture: Genesis 2:24

1.
The woman cleaves to her husband
And the man cleaves to his wife
Then by our Father’s commandment,
Together they build a life.

2.
As Eve once clave unto Adam
Adam once clave unto Eve
We now should cleave to each other
We do God’s blessing receive.

3.
And then shall be one in purpose
With our hearts and minds and eyes.
Our eyes to God’s glory are single
Fixed on His heavenly prize.

4.
Leaving our fathers and mothers
On life’s journey together.
We bless and strengthen each other
So we all storms can weather.

Hymn Text: If Temptation Overtakes You

Title: If Temptation Overtakes You
Meter: Irregular
Scripture: Genesis 39:9

1.
If temptation overtakes you, don’t give in
For you’ll never find happiness in sin.

For it brings but fleeting pleasure
And it takes a greater treasure:
God’s Spirit without measure.
Don’t give in.

Father, deliver us from sin
Wherever we may be
When we stand and don’t give in
Our bodies and our minds are free.

2.
The Spirit’s gentle voice may bid you flee
Or stay and stand to face iniquity

At that time God is beside you
He will shield you and will guide you
All help will be supplied you
Don’t give in.

Father, deliver us from sin
Wherever we may be
When we stand and don’t give in
Our bodies and our minds are free.

But if then in your weakness you give in
Return to God, confess, forsake your sin
That again you’ll be at one
With God’s Beloved Son

Who for us vict’ry won
Over sin.

Father, deliver us from sin
Wherever we may be
When we stand and don’t give in
Our bodies and our minds are free.

Hymn Text: Thou Wast Chosen

Title: Thou Wast Chosen
Meter: 8 7 8 7 D
Scripture: Abraham 3:22-23

1.
In the heavenly realms pre-mortal,
Thou wast chosen, before birth
To fulfill a mortal mission
When at last you came to earth.

When all the noble and great ones
Came and counseled round God throne
And there sang for joy together,
“Glory be to Him alone!”

2.
There the brightest lights were chosen:
Moses, Noah, Abraham.
And then too the great Messiah
Who is God’s own worthy Lamb.

And ordained in that bright kingdom
To be noble daughters, sons.
To build here on earth God’s kingdom,
To be holy blessed ones.

3.
And now we as mortal servants
In these blessed latter days
We all serve as holy beacons
To show the world of God’s ways.

So to serve the greater purpose
Our God sent us to fulfill
In all our days reflecting bright
The great glory of His will.
