Hymn Text Save Us Still

Week of April 22nd, 2018
Title: Save Us Still
Meter: 8 8 8 8 8

1.
Sin’s prison cell would hold us fast,
If Jesus had not come at last
And snatched away the jailor’s key
To set each worthy captive free.

Hosanna, Lord! And save us still,
Who labor here to do Thy will.

2.
Death’s prison cell would hold us long,
Encircling with its chains so strong.
If Christ had never burst its bands,
And proved His love with wounded hands.

Hosanna, Lord! And save us still,
Who labor here to do Thy will.

3.
As captives, in the devil’s pow’r,
We all would languish ev’ry hour
If He’d not crushed the serpent’s head,
To save the living and the dead.

Hosanna, Lord! And save us still,
Who labor here to do Thy will.

Hymn Text: Let Me Think of Easter

Week of April 29th, 2018
Title: Let Me Think of Easter
Meter: 8 8 8 8 8 8

1.
Then let me think of Easter morn,
When I’m abandoned and forlorn,
Then when I feel that I have failed,
I’ll think of how my Lord prevailed.

For Easter gladdens with the thought,
Of all that the Atonement wrought.

2.
Then let me think on Easter’s dawn,
When solace seems from me withdrawn
Then when I weep into the night,
I’ll think upon His risen light.

For Easter gladdens with the thought,
Of all that the Atonement wrought.

3.
Then let me think on Easter’s day,
When friends and treasures pass away,
Then when I feel that I have naught,
I’ll think of what Christ’s blood has bought.

For Easter gladdens with the thought,
Of all that the Atonement wrought.

Hymn Text: Three Times

Week of April 29th, 2018
Title: Three Times
Meter: 8 6 8 6 D

1.
The natural man would have us say,
That “I know not the man.”
That “I will also go away.”
That “I have my own plan.”

And only through our bitter tears,
Can we at last be free,
To let our Savior calm our fears,
And ask, “Lovest thou me?”

2.
The natural man would have us act,
As though death were the end,
With pride and enmity react,
To trials God does send.

And only through our bitter tears,
Can we at last be free,
To let our Savior calm our fears,
And ask, “Lovest thou me?”

3.
The natural man would have us think,
But with the carnal mind.
Into the depths of hell we sink,
Into the chains that bind.

And only through our bitter tears,
Can we at last be free,
To let our Savior calm our fears,
And ask, “Lovest thou me?”

Hymn Text: On Easter

Week of April 15th, 2018
Title: On Easter
Meter: 8 8 8 8
Topic: Easter

1.
On Easter, both our lives were saved,
The first, the vic’try o’er the grave.
The second, we are freed from sin,
If we but make the change within.

2.
On Easter, both our worlds were one,
The first, the world beneath the sun,
The second, heaven in its height,
Christ bridged the gulf with holy might.

3.
On Easter, both our parents came,
The first, was Adam, free from blame,
The second, Eve, now reconciled,
With all their children, undefiled.

4.
On Easter, both our parts restored,
The first, our bodies, as our Lord,
The second, spirits, now to be,
United through eternity.

Hymn Text: The Holy Ghost Attends

Title: The Holy Ghost Attends
Meter: 8 8 8 8
Topic: Easter

1.
Our spirits will not long survive,
Nor have the nourishment to thrive
Unless the Holy Ghost attends,
And walks beside us as our friends.

2.
We will succumb to Satan’s pow’r,
Unless we guard against the hour,
By taking of the Spirit’s sword,
Relying wholly on the Lord.

3.
Deep sorrow would oft pierce us through,
For what we say and think and do,
Is not enough our load to bear,
Unless the Spirit comforts there.

4.
Our wand’ring feet would go astray,
As we misplace the narrow way,
Unless we take the Spirit’s light,
To guide us through this latter night.

5.
Our sure companion, dearest friend,
The Spirit bears us to the end,
For safe within his tender care,
We banish sin and flee despair.

Hymn Text: On Both Sides of the Veil

Week of April 8th, 2018
Title: On Both Sides of the Veil
Meter: 8 6 8 6 8 8 8 6

1.
The Gospel message resonates
On both sides of the veil.
The Gospel message hopes creates,
On both sides of the veil.

The prophet’s words are swiftly shared.
The saints are strengthened and prepared.

The Gospel message resonates
On both sides of the veil.

2.
True ordinances show their pow’r,
On both sides of the veil.
The blessings of the priesthood flow’r,
On both sides of the veil.

On earth we labor in their stead,
We labor with our kindred dead.

True ordinances show their pow’r,
On both sides of the veil.

3.
The arms of Christ are reaching out,
On both sides of the veil.
The Father’s work we are about,
On both sides of the veil.

We work in concert, faithful, strong,
The two halves of salvation’s song.

The arms of Christ are reaching out,
On both sides of the veil.
